About the Game

Final Fantasy VII is a role-playing video game created for the PlayStation 1 console. Even though it has been twelve years since the game was released this game is highly talked about and regarded as one of the best games in the Final Fantasy series. This game was created by Square Enix and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. It was released in 1997 for the PlayStation and in 1998 it was made for Windows. Well compared to now a days it's not very good but considering the past graphics of the other Final Fantasy games this was amazing.

Final Fantasy FiveThere are three modes to this game, an over world map, field map, and battle screen. The over world map is a 3D model, that shows a scaled-down version of the game's world. The player navigates to travel between the game's different locations. Travel can be on foot, chocobos (a huge bird you can ride), airship, or submarine. On the field maps, characters are on environments that have 2D backgrounds, these can be towns or forests. And lastly the battle screen is a 3D area, such as a building's interior or forest, or grassland, where the player commands the characters in battles against computer controlled enemies. The character bodies are pretty deformed and scaled down on the over world map but in the battle screen the characters are more realistic and scaled properly. At the start of the game the player is restricted to where they can explore but as you continue in the game the world of Final Fantasy is Final Fantasy Sixavailable to the player to explore.

The game uses Active Time Battle (ATB) or turn based, this was designed by Hiroyuki Itō. Only three characters are allowed to be in the party at any time. The skill system uses materia or magical orbs that can be placed in slots that are on weapons and armor. Players can then use these abilities to strengthen your characters. Players can also unleash "Limit Breaks", powerful attacks that can be used once the gauge is filled. The bar fills up as the characters suffer damage in battle. Limit Breaks inflict a lot more damage on enemies than normal attacks. Each Limit Break for each character is uniquely different.
